- Q: Does Skywalker Sound only work on George Lucas' films?
A: No, we work on all kinds of projects; from the biggest summer blockbusters to low-budget documentaries.

- Q: Where is Skywalker Sound located?
A: We are located on Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California, approximately 45 minutes north of San Francisco.
- Q: Do you have a rate card?
A: We have rate cards for our audio and video transfer services. All other work is bid on a per project basis.
- Q: What kinds of projects do you work on?
A: We currently provide sound post production sound services for feature films,
commercials, television, IMAX® and large
format film mixing, theme park attractions, and videogames. On our
scoring stage, we record and mix everything from solo piano to full 130
piece orchestras.

- Q: When was Skywalker Sound founded?
A: Originally founded as Sprocket Systems over twenty-five years ago, Skywalker Sound became the official
company name when we relocated to Skywalker Ranch in 1987. Read our History here.
- Q: Are tours available of Skywalker Ranch?
A: Unfortunately, no, but you can take a virtual tour of the Technical Building.
- Q: Can I rent the Stag Theater?
A: The Stag Theater is not available for rent, but it is used by clients who are currently working on projects at Skywalker Sound.
- Q: How many people work at Skywalker Sound?
A: We ramp up and down as our workload changes, but the range is from 80 to 160 employees.

- Q: How many films does Skywalker Sound work on each year?
A: Skywalker Sound works on approximately 20 to 30 films each year.
- Q: I want to get a job at Skywalker, what school or classes should I take.
A: This is a tough one. There are a lot of very good programs, but it is not appropriate for us to recommend one over another.
- Q: Does Skywalker Sound provide surround sound certification and courses?
A: No
