Recent news:

January, 2006:
The last of the foreign language versions for Munich are mixed and delivered.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is chosen as one of seven films to be considered for Achievement in Sound Editing for the 78th Academy Awards®.

December, 2005:
Altered is mixed by Kent Sparling and Mark Berger for Haxan Films. Skywalker is chosen to mix five foreign language versions of Munich, including the French, Russian, German, Castilian Spanish and Italian. Materials are digitally collected from all over the world, edited, mixed, printmastered and then delivered digitally back to the territories.

The final mix for CARS is completed.

November, 2005:
Stephen Spielberg’s Munich begins premixing on two stages while CARS continues. Also starting up is Roving Mars, an IMAX movie mixed by Gary Rizzo in our Orson Welles Studio. Skywalker is once again chosen to remix a film for IMAX release, this time, it’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that gets sonically adapted to the IMAX screen and sound format.

American Gothic mix is completed by Brandon Proctor.

October, 2005:
Final Mix for RENT completed at Skywalker in the Orson Welles Studio, while in the Kurosawa Studio, rerecording mixers Tom Myers teams up with Gary Summers to begin the mix on Pixar’s CARS.

In the David Lean Studio, Gary Rizzo completes the mix for Hoodwinked, an animated feature to be distributed by the Weinstein Company.

September, 2005:
Skywalker Sound names Randy Thom as Director of Sound Design. Click here for the full press release.

August, 2005:
Sound recording and design for Pixar’s CARS has begun.

Randy Thom has begun work on Monster House for Imagemovers / Sony.

Sound editorial underway for Christopher Columbus’ RENT for Revolution Studios and Sony Pictures. Additional foreign language versions completed for both War of the Worlds and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Skywalker Sound is chosen to mix IMAX’s Magnificent Desolation.

June, 2005:
Skywalker Sound chosen to complete five foreign language mixes of War of the Worlds.

IMAX Corporation hires Skywalker Sound to adapt the theatrical mixes for Batman Begins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the REALLY big screen.

April-May, 2005:
Skywalker completes the domestic mix for Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith then goes on to mix 19 foreign language versions of the film in time for a worldwide release on May 19.

The Special Editon DVD of James Cameron's Titanic is edited and mixed at Skywalker Sound, featuring almost and hour of new material.

March, 2005:
Revolution Studios brings Jane Anderson's film The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio to Skywalker.

Another Revolution project, XXX: State of the Union comes to Skywalker for sound design and premixing.

February, 2005:
Skywalker is happy to congratulate Randy Thom and Michael Silvers and the entire team that worked on Pixar's "The Incredibles", AND to Randy and Dennis Leonard and their crew for their work on "The Polar Express". Both films were nominated for both Sound and Sound Editing categories.

At the 77th Annual Academy Awards® Randy Thom and Michael Silvers won the Oscar® for Sound Editing on "The Incredibles".
