Benjamin A. Burtt

Benjamin “Benny” A. Burtt is a two-time Academy Award-nominated Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Effects Editor at Skywalker Sound. Raised in the art of sound design, Burtt has carved out an extraordinary career creating dynamic audio landscapes for cinema’s biggest franchises and critically acclaimed features.

His standout craftsmanship has earned him two Oscar nominations for Best Sound on Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther and Sinners, alongside a BAFTA Award nomination and multiple Primetime Emmy nominations.
Burtt’s extensive portfolio spans major blockbusters, television landmarks, and fan-favorite releases, including Twisters, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, and Pixar’s Elemental and Win or Lose. On television, his work on Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett earned him multiple Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Sound Editing.  Burtt continues to collaborate with top visionary filmmakers to push the boundaries of audio storytelling.
