Skywalker Sound has seven feature mixing stages, a scoring stage, three Foley stages, and a staff of over 200 sound artists.

Sound and storytelling go hand in hand. Sound helps to create atmosphere, elicit emotion, and set tone. The sound designers and editors at Skywalker Sound are not only able to team with filmmakers to create an impeccable track, but they are also able to tell a story that would otherwise be difficult to tell with picture alone.

Skywalker Sound’s Scoring Stage main room measures 60 feet by 80 feet with a 30-foot ceiling and can easily accommodate a 100-piece symphony orchestra yet is flexible enough to provide an intimate recording environment for a solo performer. The main room features an adjustable acoustic system that allows the reverb time to be varied from .6 to 3 seconds. Three isolation booths are located at the end of the main room opposite the control room, and a fourth isolation booth is located directly off the control room. All the rooms are extensively equipped with audio, video, and network tie lines. Premium mic/line cables are also available, running directly from the stage to the control room for use with outboard mic pre-amps. A large, private lounge is located next to the studio.

Our dual digital projectors provide a reference-quality visual experience, fully capable of 3D, HFR, and D-Cinema DLP presentations on a massive 49-foot-7-inch screen.

The theater’s audio architecture is equally world-class, featuring an immersive Dolby Atmos speaker system with state-of-the-art Meyer Sound speakers and subwoofers delivering the consistency and stability required for Tier-1 studio environments.

For global workflows, we support comprehensive remote review capabilities. The Stag Theater provides an unparalleled environment for both aural and visual evaluation.
